Project 1 : Cable Modem System IP Services Development
Client: Ericsson,
Inc.
Challenge:
To design a complete solution for providing broadband services over
a cable operator's HFC plant.
The high-level
components comprising the project were:
- customer
premises equipment (CPE)
- head-end
equipment
- management
software
The following
major system functions were developed:
- Element management
- Software
and configuration file management
- Network support
services
- Subscriber/customer
management
Mercury Carrier
Class Network System (CCNS) product supported the overall operation
of the Ericsson cable modem, cable modem termination system, and
related products.
Solution:
Our experienced development team designed:
- Multi-tier
device provisioning server application for cable modem's
Operation Support System. (the system included such features as
cable
modem user self-registration through Web interface, IP management,
fraud detection, cable modem and telephony adapter management)
- Java based
SNMP tools for cable modem management. (also designed SNMP/JDBC
Java applications for working with HP OpenView web interface)
- DHCP server
extensions to store IP-leases information in Oracle database
and update dynamic DHCP server configuration from external JAVA
application
- CORBA
interfaces to control communication equipment interface with
AT&T system network requirements
Result: The
resulting solution was successfully presented at Western Cable Show
(12/99) and enabled Ericsson to meet its delivery deadlines on time.
Sample Project 2
: Common Element Manager (CEM)
Client: 3COM,
Inc.
Challenge:
To design a network element manager to remotely manage 3COM Network
Application Cards (NAC) and Network Interface Cards (NIC) through
a Network Management Card (NMC) installed in an Enterprise Network
Hub.
Solution: TLI's professionals created a system that provided
ability to control any SNMP manageable device on a unified data
communication platform and simultaneously supply a wide variety
of data, voice and video applications. The same system was also
designed to combine any applications within a single 3Com Hub chassis.
Project implementation
included:
- Functional
and detail specifications design & analysis for all object
models.
- Object
models and class diagram development for major components
of TC1000 chassis, including High Density Modem (HDM/JHDM) and
Network Management card.
- Interface
development and modifications between JAVA Instant DB and
CEM server.
- PYTHON
scripts and XML files development to produce discovery process
for HDM/JHDM card for dial-in and dial-out Internet access and
implement SNMP commands for Card, Span, Modem and Template levels
of systems.
Result: By
developing the Common Element Manager, we enabled 3COM to expand
its product line offerings and increase sales to the large-scale
enterprise market.
Sample Project 3
: Messaging Modules for SMP machines
Client: NASDAQ
Challenge:
To integrate mainframe legacy database containing proprietary stock
quotes messaging system with new Oracle database and modern messaging
system.
Solution: TLI's development team implemented:
- Functional
and detail specifications design & analysis for the messaging
modules.
- COM/DCOM
modules design for converting/translating legacy stock quote
messaging system.
- Interface
development and modifications between legacy stock quote system
and the new messaging system.
- Proprietary
C++ library development
Result: The
resulting product ensures accurate and timely delivery of stock
quotes and related financial information between legacy applications
and modern NASDAQ systems.
